"Nature's Way"

I once gave a lift to a lady. She asked how many kids I had and I told her none. From there the gist moved on to her. She had 4 kids and the first was by Ceasarian Section.
She told me how her Mother in-Law and other family gave her hell because 'she was not a strong woman and couldnt push' and 'how her delivery was not natural'. So for the second birth, against doctor's orders, she pushed and pushed for hours...Well , she survived it or she would not have been in my car telling me the nonsense story.

What the literal hell?!  Here I was,  trying to have a kid and these people were spouting ignorance.

The story didn't end there.  Madam went on to tell me that when she birthed the second child, the first questions from Family was not
"Is she Ok?"
"Is the baby okay"
"What's the sex of the baby? "
Rather,
"How did she born?"

Give me a minute to take a chill pill . I'm getting hot under the collar again...
Recently, when I heard the narrative that one of the main reasons ladies give birth by Ceasarian Section is because they do not have the energy to push, all the corn in my head popped.
Please, if you share this myopic view, recieve your deliverance by knowledge today!

There are so many reasons why a woman has to be cut open to bring out her offspring.
The most common being that the baby is breech. That means basically that the baby is in the wrong position. A baby is supposed to exit the birth canal head first. But when labour starts and the baby is in the wrong position what do you do? You cut to save the lives of mother and child. The writer of this article tried to come out hand first after several days of torturous  labour by her mother. The doctors tried to push the hand back inside and in the process, my hand was pulled out of the socket. I spent the first few months of my life in physiotherapy. Torture that could have been avoided.

Or the umblical cord could be wrapped around the baby's neck. Giving birth vaginally would result in inadvertent strangulation of few baby.

There are even cases where the placenta blocks the cervix. With no exit point for the baby,  the only solution would be a Ceasarian Section. Some ladies even have paper thin wombs that could rip to shreds if stressed. Geez! If I go on with medical reasons for a CS, I will type for  days.

Then the choice to birth via Ceasarian Section could be elective. This is 2019. Who says women cannot choose to avoid pain if they can? If I could birth by vomitting the baby pain free,  I would. Who cares as long as baby and mom are okay?
